You too can be a part of our Event Ministry and help with support for seasonal Presentations, Vacation Bible School, Missions Conference and other church wide events are needed. You may also support these ministries in the area of seasonal needs such as script writing, choreography & backstage support.
Below are some mini descriptions to help you understand our on going needs just a little bit better.
Costuming/Seamstress
Assist Costume Coordinator in sewing and making costumes for all major productions and any events such as Missions Conference, Children’s Programs. This ministry may include mending, washing, ironing, organization, inventory, costume check in and check out. Most work done from home seasonally.
Costume Design
Assist Costume Coordinator in the design of costumes for major productions. Advanced sewing skills required and ability to mix patterns or create costuming with a picture rather then a pattern. Some work done from home seasonally.
Theatrical Make-Up
Assist Make up Coordinator in applying stage make up during any major production. Prefer stage make up experience or be familiar with make up. Work hours prior to stage production, morning & evening services.
Event Volunteers/Hostesses
Help with serving at sit down dinners, receptions & buffet line attendant. No waiter or waitress experience necessary. Ability to volunteer evening hours.
Event Registration/Ticket Sales
Assist Registration Coordinator in selling and registering for events at Idlewild. Computer and phone skills recommended. Ability to work during service and daytime hours.
Construction of Sets/Props
Assist Construction Coordinator in the construction of sets for any major productions, construction knowledge beneficial but not necessary. Ability to work evenings, weekends, day time at off campus location.
Set Painting
Help with painting needs for scenery of sets and props for all events which require same. Including Presentations, Missions Conference, VBS. Knowledge of different painting techniques is helpful. Day and night hours available. Will most likely include some off campus work.
Scenic Artist
Help with scenic painting, ability to match color, paint in large scale, Day and night hours available, off campus work.
Load/Unload Volunteer
Assist Storage Coordinator to load, unload large and heavy objects for all minor and major events as Idlewild. Will include loading and unloading of box truck as well as semi-trailer. Good backs are needed. Ability to work day and night hours will include some off campus work.
Set up/Take Down Volunteer
Assist Storage Coordinator to set up and/or tear down all minor and major events as Idlewild. Will include hauling of sets and props across the building. Good backs are needed. Ability to work day and night hours may include some off campus work.
Decorators
Assist Decorating Coordinators with decorating for small & large events, conferences and many other events at Idlewild. Creative eye and ability to capture the visions for themed events helpful, but not necessary. Seasonal, day and night hours available.
Flower Arranging
Assist Flower Coordinator with arranging flowers for all events. Knowledge of flower types and ability to arrange flowers helpful but not necessary. Seasonal, day and night hours available.
Inventory
Volunteer to help keep up with the massive inventory of sets, props, costumes. Knowledge of computer, digital camera and scanner required. Daytime hours, ability to work alone, organize. Some off campus work needed. Times vary
Props
Assist with the making, painting and retrieving of props for all events. Wood-crafting skill helpful. Need creative eye and ability to create form a picture or sketch. Can work at home or off campus.
Prop Manager
Work during presentation to insure that all props are available, retrieved and ready for the presentation. Fix broken props as needed. Seasonal presentations only.
Picture Organization/Scrap booking
Pictures are taken of each production and presentation. These must be kept neatly and organized. We often scrap book these as well for historical purposes. Most work done from home.
Food Committee Volunteer
During set up and tear down of events our volunteers get hungry and thirsty. We need people to bring food either store bought, ordered or home made to help with this need. Seasonal can work at home delivery required.
Cookie Decorating/Baking
Treats are often a part of our events. People who have cookie & cake baking and decorating skills as well, experience required. This is usually done for smaller events and or hospitality related events. Seasonal can do most of the work from home.
