What is Idlewild MOPS?

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers

MOPS International is a non-profit organization which is dedicated to empowering and inspiring women as they seek to be the best mothers possible. Idlewild MOPS is an extension of MOPS International whose purpose is to encourage, equip and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ.

At Idlewild MOPS, we know that being a mother of a preschooler is a challenging time in your life. At an Idlewild MOPS meeting, we will seek to refresh and encourage you while your children are lovingly cared for in our MOPPETS program. We want this to be a special place for you to not only come and meet other women passing through this precious stage of life, but to hear effective ideas for raising healthy, happy children. Better moms make better children, which in turn, make a better world.
MOPS...because mothering matters.

How does Idlewild MOPS help?

Idlewild MOPS seeks to meet six specific needs of mothers. These needs are for identity, growth, relationship, help, perspective, and hope. The basic schedule of an Idlewild MOPS meeting is arranged to integrate opportunities for relaxation, learning, meaningful discussion, and creative activities.
When and where will the group meet?

Idlewild MOPS will meet at Idlewild Baptist Church on the first Thursday of the month, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

What about Childcare?

The MOPPETS program is for children from birth through age 5. Each child will be placed in an age appropriate class where he or she will receive Biblically based teaching, have playtime, complete a craft or activity, and enjoy a snack. For mothers of preschoolers who also have older, home-schooled children, childcare will be available for the older children. Home-schooled children will be integrated into the MOPPETS classrooms and participate in the activities provided.

What does it cost?

Registration for MOPS is $45, payable at the time of registration.  This included membership in MOPS International plus local dues for our September through December meetings.  The Spring registration fee will be $21 for returning members.  New moms who join our group mid-year will pay a pro-rated registration fee of $23.95 for MOPS International, plus $5 per meeting for local dues.

How do I sign up?

Register online – coming soon in August.  Space is limited, and once you register, you will receive a confirmation email with meeting details.
