You will be sent a form to fill out in preparation for this course. Financial Counselors will be available to work one on one with anyone who would like to stay and receive additional help.                                    
This is a course for everyone in the church.  It teaches biblical principles related to money and provides basic budget tools. Attendees leave this course with a God-honoring budget in their hands, knowledge in their heads to implement it and hope in their hearts to follow through.


Course Overview
The Good $ense Financial Workshop helps participants discover tools and develop skills that enable them to control their finainces, rather than allowing their finances to control them.  Participants get pratical help and guidance to:

    * Remove money as a barrier to spiritual growth
    * Prioritize financial goals
    * Identify action steps to reduce expenses
    * Reduce debt
    * Develop a personalized spending plan

More than just a learning experience about budgers and finances, the course enables participants to reflect on their relationship to money and how it impacts their relationship to God.  No matter what your circumstances—financial crisis or abundance—Good $ense can be helpful to everyone in the church.  The result is a congregation whose finances, and lives, are characterized by grace, joy, and freedom.

Course Goal
The goal of the course is for participants to leave with:

    * A Spending Plan (budget) in their hand
    * The knowledge in their head to implement it
    * The motivation in their heart to follow through

1-on-1 Financial Counseling
Individual 1-on-1 financial counseling is available to all who desire this level of detailed budget accountability.

Good $ense Counselor Training

There is a tremendous need for churches to educate and assist people with managing their resources in God-honoring ways, and that’s what the Good $ense Counselor Training Workshop trains volunteers to do—provide free, biblically-based, confidential budget counseling to individuals and families.

Workshop participants receive extensive training in key areas, including the five stages of the counseling process, biblical financial principles, interpersonal skills, and the foundations of the Good $ense Ministry.

Participants learn how to:

    * Prepare for and conduct the first client meeting
    * Develop listening skills that build a strong relationship with the client
    * Help a client establish a balanced budger and debt reduction plan
    * Provide wise counsel by applying biblical finaincial principles
    * Help a client develop solid finaincial practices for a lifetime of good stewardship

When well trained Good $ense counselors use their God-given talents and abilities, the local church can become a place where lives are transformed as individuals and families experience reduced anxiety, relational restoration, and the joy of financial freedom.
