A Message from Idlewild Pastor Ken Whitten  

More than 75 years ago a group of people started Exciting Idlewild Baptist Church because they wanted a place for people to connect with Jesus Christ. Over the years, the methods have changed dramatically, but the heartbeat of this church remains the same. We have often said it like this: The story of Exciting Idlewild will be told in the changed lives of people.

God has graciously allowed us to have a beautiful new facility to use for the purpose of reaching Tampa and beyond for Christ. God has graciously allowed us to be a part of seeing people come to faith in Jesus, and grow in that faith. Few of those who began our church could see what it would become today.

But where we are today is only the beginning of the journey. We have the opportunity to not just inhabit a new facility, but to maximize the space for life change. That is what Live the Vision is all about. It is your opportunity to be an active part of the vision of Exciting Idlewild Baptist Church!

In the coming weeks you will be given the opportunity to participate in the vision by stepping up your involvement in ministry activities, and by praying about how to participate financially. Together, we can be a part of seeing God do amazing things in this community in the lives of people.

I hope you will take the time to carefully and prayerfully process this information.

My prayer and hope is that we will have the joy of experiencing God’s blessing on this ministry as we Live the Vision.
