Atibaia, Brazil – 2023 Mission Trip Recap | John Campbell

The Atibaia, Brazil team serves the Vinde Meninos (Come Children) ministry of Word of Life in Atibaia, Brazil. The ministry serves at-risk children living in the poor communities in and around Atibaia, Brazil, near Sao Paulo.

Each team member will prepare at least one 10-12 minute devotion and an accompanying craft project to be presented to 60-75 elementary age children or 35-45 middle school aged children through a translator. Other tasks include:

• Playing sports, primarily soccer, with the children, as well as interacting with the children in the ministry.
• Serving the lunch and snacks and cleaning up after meals.
• Traveling one hour to Sao Paulo to serve one day in the Sao Paulo branch of Vinde which includes a devotion for the older children and crafts for the younger children.
• Traveling to a nearby sports ministry for children that partners with Vinde Meninos for discipleship.
• Delivering food boxes to needy families with an opportunity to interact with the locals in need through a translator.
• A day trip to the city of Atibaia and other activities including a meal at a Brazilian steakhouse and a dinner at Pastels with the best empanadas in the world!
