Summary of the Ministry Position:

The Director – Administration is responsible for the following areas of the Idlewild ministry, Finance, HR, IT, Facilities, Risk Management and Legal, Event Support Services, Food Service and Safety. FT - Assistant Controller

Ministry Position Title: Assistant Controller
Reports to: Controller

Ministry Purpose of this Position: Assist the Controller with operational and transactional elements of the Finance Department and provide financial analysis.

Summary of the Ministry Position: The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller to manage the overall finance and accounting functions of the church.  The Assistant Controller will share supervisory responsibility with the Controller of the finance and accounting staff consisting of general accounting, payroll, accounts payable and contribution processing personnel.

Ministry Purpose of this Position:  Under the Director of Communications, the Video Designer partners with the ministries of the church to supply promotional and project graphic needs.

Summary of the Ministry Position:  The Video Designer is a forward-thinking, skilled position with the Communications ministry.  This person’s duties include conceptualizing ideas, capturing, editing, and producing video projects for ministries within the church.

PT - Ministry Assistant , Children's Music

Ministry Position Title: Ministry Assistant

Ministry Purpose of this Position:

The Ministry Assistant – Children’s Music supports the Idlewild Baptist Church mission by providing administrative support to the Children’s Worship Director related to all ministry areas within the Children’s Music program including Worship Quest, Camp Agape and Summer Sing including but not exclusively events, presentations, etc. within these areas.

Summary of the Ministry Position:

The Ministry Assistant – Children’s Music oversees registration of new attendees, maintains current enrollment, oversees registration volunteers, writes and reviews curriculum, and any other applicable tasks needs to ensure the effectiveness of the Children’s Music program.  This also includes being the ESpace person for the entire Children’s Music area.

  • Oversee registration of new attendees, volunteers, current enrollment, and accuracy of demographic information of Children’s Music attendees and volunteers.

Ministry Purpose of this Position: To support the Student Pastor, Young Adult Pastor, High School Pastor, Middle School Pastor, and the Director of Girls Ministry with the daily duties and projects related to the Student Ministry. This position will work alongside the FT Ministry Assistant – Students.

Summary of the Ministry Position: The PT Ministry Assistant – Students is responsible for the creation, oversight, and management of all communication that comes from the Student and Young Adult Ministry.

 

Administrative duties will also include phone calls and emails, communication with adult leadership and parents, facilitation of student ministry events, coordination of weekly programming, and follow-up with Students + Young Adults.

FT - Production Specialist 4, Worship & Creative Arts Ministry

Ministry Position Title: Production Specialist 4

Ministry Purpose of this Position:

As with the rest of the Production department, this position partners with every church ministry to help ensure all technical needs are met to support their small group time, worship services, and special events.

Summary of the Ministry Position:

The Production Specialist 4 – Lighting Designer not only fills a lead position for our worship services but also support other events or setups. This person should come in with at least 5 years of Live Production and lighting design experience within a church or theater setting. This person’s duties may include all Production Specialist 3 duties, but their primary function is to maintain all lighting equipment across all rooms/campuses as well as support large events and daily setup needs. It is their responsibility to see that the gear is setup correctly and the event is carried out with excellence. It is also their responsibility to train AVL techs on gear as needed.

  • Maintain all lighting equipment (spaces, fixtures, consoles, etc.).
  • Serve as lighting production lead for large events.

  • Serve as lead lighting programmer as well as being equipped in other areas of Production for worship center services and events.
  • Maintain installed systems in classrooms.
  • Meet with ministries about their tech needs for special events.
  • Train new AVL techs, specifically lighting, to serve in that role.

  • Programming Graphics machines with needed content for all worship services on campus.

Work Hours/Schedule: Changes weekly depending on special events happening on and off campus. This job will be a full-time position with 40 hours per week with opportunities for overtime a couple times a year due to large events like VBS, Camps and Christmas Presentation.

Education required and preferred: High School completed.

Experience required and preferred: At least 5 years in some lead technical role at a church, theater, production company, Video Studio or Audio Studio.

Skills required and preferred:

  • Fluent in lighting systems as well as demonstrated proficiency in audio and video.

Ministry Purpose of this Position: To support the resource needs of all Preschool Bible Friendship programming.  Assists and works directly with Preschool Resource Coordinator.

Summary of the Ministry Position:  Assists in keeping Resource Room, storage rooms, attic storage & classrooms organized, inventoried, stocked, and clean.  Assists in preparing supplies for all Preschool Bible Friendship Sunday morning classes, Awana classes, and special/seasonal events.

Education required and preferred: High school diploma required; some college preferred.

Experience required and preferred:  3 to 5 years of clerical experience or equivalent is preferred.

PT - Missions Driver

Ministry Position Title: Missions Driver

Reports to: Director – Local Missions

Ministry Purpose of this Position:  To support the Global Missions ministry in reaching the community for Christ through performing the role and of Ministry Driver. The responsibilities will be to drive and haul trailers to ministry locations. Service and maintain trailers for optimal usage. Provide driving vans and/or trailers to support Local Missions, International Missions, and other member care needs.

Summary of Ministry Position: The driver will assume the responsibilities of the Ministry Driver by providing the following:

  • Be the driver on call
  • Deliver trailers to ministry events and family assistance throughout the community
  • Oversee trailer/van attachment for safety
  • Assist in caring for church vans
  • Assist in driving members to and from the airport for mission trips

Ministry Purpose of this Position:
To maintain the facilities and grounds in such a manner as to not be a topic of negative
conversation by using the available resources efficiently and effectively to glorify God in
doing so.

KEY MINISTRY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Serving as a member of the
Facilities Support Team. To include a variety of general building maintenance & amp;
repair tasks including electrical work, carpentry, painting, plumbing, roofing leak search
& amp; minor repairs.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Any or combination of the following:
Electrical knowledge and experience in troubleshooting and repairing 3 phase power,
blueprint reading, patch drywall, painting, plumbing repairs, carpentry, carpet cleaning,
light bulb/ballast replacement, general building repairs; aptitude for Building
maintenance and Repairs. Experience trouble shooting in a commercial building
environment. Must be able to work independently to accomplish assigned tasks.

PT - Concessions, Recreation

Ministry Position Title: Recreation Concessions
Reports to: Director – Recreation

Ministry Purpose of this Position:

To serve members and guests in the area of hospitality within our recreation outreach concession and food service.

Summary of the Ministry Position:

A part-time position not to exceed 25 hours per week in serving participants both youth and adults in our Recreation programming.

To oversee volunteer staff for concession food service for our athletic programming within game day and night scheduled events.

Ministry Purpose of this Position:

To work alongside the Recreation team officiating sporting events in preparing for and overseeing the all sports contests on game days within routine seasonal times.

Summary of the Ministry Position:

Officiate at athletic or sporting events. Detect infractions of rules and decide penalties according to established regulations. Includes all sporting officials, referees, and athletic judges.

Ministry Purpose of this Position: To assist the Foster Care Coordinator with Foster Care activities, events, communication (social media), initiatives, and discipleship relationships. Summary of the Ministry Position: The Intern will assist the Family Member team with events, participate in planning meetings, help with all logistical aspects of new initiatives, and meet regularly with the Foster Care Coordinator for ministry development work.

Summary of the Ministry Position:

The Ministry Assistant – Children’s Music oversees registration of new attendees, maintains current enrollment, oversees registration volunteers, writes and reviews curriculum, and any other applicable tasks needs to ensure the effectiveness of the Children’s Music program.  This also includes being the ESpace person for the entire Children’s Music area.

As with the rest of the Production department, this position partners with every church ministry to help ensure all technical needs are met to support their small group time, worship services, and special events.

Summary of the Ministry Position:

The Production Specialist 4 – Lighting Designer not only fills a lead position for our worship services but also support other events or setups. This person should come in with at least 5 years of Live Production and lighting design experience within a church or theater setting. This person’s duties may include all Production Specialist 3 duties, but their primary function is to maintain all lighting equipment across all rooms/campuses as well as support large events and daily setup needs. It is their responsibility to see that the gear is setup correctly and the event is carried out with excellence. It is also their responsibility to train AVL techs on gear as needed.

PT - Concessions, Recreation

Ministry Position Title: Recreation Concessions
Reports to: Director – Recreation
Department: Recreation
Position Status: Non-exempt, PT

Ministry Purpose of this Position:

To serve members and guests in the area of hospitality within our recreation outreach concession and food service.

Summary of the Ministry Position:

A part-time position not to exceed 25 hours per week in serving participants both youth and adults in our Recreation programming.

Key Ministry Areas of Responsibility:

*Responsibilities for this position can be added to, decreased, and/or modified within existing primary and secondary responsibilities.
To oversee volunteer staff for concession food service for our athletic programming within game day and night scheduled events.

Additional Ministry areas of responsibility:

In addition to the weekend game schedule, the scheduling of special events, weeknight games and being available as needed for said events.

Work Hours/Schedule:

Not to exceed 15-20 hours per week depending on game day scheduling to include prep and set-up time, post day cleanup, weekly purchasing, and stocking items in preparation of game day.

Education required and preferred:

No special education required or preferred.

Other Experience preferred:

Minimal experience in food service or the hospitality industry.

Skills required and preferred:

Ability to work well with volunteer staff, a positive attitude in spirit and speech. Basic math skills. Ability to stay on task and respond during high volume service times.

Characteristics required and preferred:

Having a Christ-like attitude in all that we do, effective communication skills, and a strong ability to multi-task. Good basic math and currency skills. Trustworthy and patient.
Physical required and preferred: Stamina to be on feet for several hours and ability to lift minimal weights of 15-20 pounds at any time.

PT - Game Official, Recreation

Ministry Position Title: Game Official
Reports to: Director – Recreation
Department: Recreation
Position Status: Non-exempt, PT
Salary Level: 2,3

Ministry Purpose of this Position:

To work alongside the Recreation team officiating sporting events in preparing for and overseeing the all sports contests on game days within routine seasonal times.

Summary of the Ministry Position:

Officiate at athletic or sporting events. Detect infractions of rules and decide penalties according to established regulations. Includes all sporting officials, referees, and athletic judges.

  1. Officiate at sporting events, games, to maintain standards of play and to ensure that game rules are observed.
  2. Signal participants or other officials to make them aware of infractions or to otherwise regulate play or competition.
  3. Inspect sporting equipment and/or examine participants in order to ensure compliance with event and safety regulations.
  4. Keep track of event times, including race times and elapsed time during game segments, starting or stopping play when necessary.
  5. Resolve claims of rule infractions or complaints by participants and assess any necessary penalties, according to regulations.
  6. Confer with other sporting officials, coaches, players, and facility managers in order to provide information, coordinate activities, and discuss problems.

Work Hours/Schedule:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (in season); Monday-Friday various game times during season (Soccer, Flag Football, Kickball, Baseball, Softball).

Experience required and preferred:

Familiar with sports rules and regulations.

Skills required and preferred:

Knowledge of the basic points of athletics, baseball, soccer, football, etc.

Physical required and preferred:

Ability to lift 25-45 pounds routinely and the ability and stamina to spend long hours in extreme weather conditions (heat or cold).

PT, Foster Care Intern, Member Care

Ministry Position Title: Foster Care Intern
Reports to: Coordinator Hope for the Orphan
Department: Member Care
Position Status: Non-exempt, PT
Salary Level: 1, 2, 3

Ministry Purpose of this Position: To assist the Foster Care Coordinator with Foster Care activities, events, communication (social media), initiatives, and discipleship relationships. The internship also seeks to provide practical ministry and leadership experience that helps equip interns for a lifetime of ministry.

Summary of the Ministry Position: The Intern will assist the Family Member team with events, participate in planning meetings, help with all logistical aspects of new initiatives, and meet regularly with the Foster Care Coordinator for ministry development work.

Key Ministry Areas of Responsibility: *Responsibilities for this position can be added to, decreased, and/or modified within existing primary and secondary responsibilities.

  • Administrative and communication support to Foster Care Coordinator
  • Participate and serve in all Foster Care activities
  • Assist in the facilitation of all Foster Care related programs
  • Complete reading assignments
  • Travel with Foster Care Coordinator to visit foster families when required

Work hours/schedule:

  • Hourly (15-20 hours)
  • Schedule is flexible

Education required and preferred:

  • High School diploma required
  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree
  • Working towards a Biblical degree or seminary preferred

Experience required and preferred:

  • Social Work experience or interest
