Celebrating The Everlasting King – Day 2

Image of the Invisible God/First Born of All Creation

Do you want to see God? Paul writing the Colossians said that all who had witnessed Jesus on earth saw God. The beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins, was physically here, eating and talking with sinners.

If you want to “see” the incomparable Christ through the witness’s eye then read Colossians 1 and be reminded of His great reconciling work that only God, Himself, can and would do. I thank God for His incarnation, for bearing the image of mankind being the Firstborn of All Creation.

I had an invisible friend for a time when I was a child. I didn’t want to acknowledge that I felt alone so I employed my imagination to create a companion. I’m sure I felt that no one but my invisible friend really understood me. However, I may not have been the best friend for my invisible friend. I do not remember when my invisible friend finally vanished. I replaced them with a zebra plant that I talked to. I named the plant Clarence. Clarence bloomed a gorgeous yellow flower and I thought that was because I sang to Clarence. Turns out that the flowering was directly related to this being a time when I remembered to water Clarence.

I am capable of creating an imaginary friend, but I am incapable of maintaining an imaginary relationship. God is real. Christ is the image of the Invisible God, the Firstborn of all Creation.
