24 Dec Celebrating The Everlasting King – Day 25
Redeemer
Job 19:25 Yet as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last, He will take His stand on the earth.
One of the best gifts I have ever received was the gift of time with a friend experiencing great worship music. Our husbands celebrated us by joining together to send us away for a few days in Nashville with tickets to the Dove awards. We were moms of little, busy children and thrilled at the prospect of wearing fun outfits, putting on our makeup alone, singing at the top of our lungs with some of the greatest artists in Christian music, and snacking in a beautiful hotel room. The year was when Nicole C. Mullen had written the lyrics for the song Redeemer and was singing it at the Dove Awards. I knew every word. Parenting meant I hung onto every word.
Redeemer by Nicole C. Mullen
Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning?
And who told the ocean you can only come this far?
And who showed the moon where to hide ’til evening?
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?Well, I know my redeemer lives
I know my redeemer lives
All of creation testify
This life within me cries
I know my redeemer lives, yeahThe very same god that spins things in orbit
Runs to the weary, the worn and the weak
And the same gentle hands that hold me when I’m broken
They conquered death to bring me victory
Let all creation testify
Let this life within me cry
I know my Redeemer, he lives
To take away my shame
And he lives forever, I’ll proclaimThat the payment for my sin
Was the precious life he gave
But now he’s alive and
There’s an empty grave
John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends.
