Celebrating The Everlasting King – Day 8

Celebrating The Everlasting King – Day 8

Several years back, I got an incredible Christmas bedding set. It is mainly white with touches of soft blue and a little red. It says Merry Christmas in a cool script and there are a few little birds on it. Since getting that comforter, I enjoy decorating our bedroom for Christmas. It is “over the top.”

I’ve always appreciated pretty fabric and gorgeous bedding. To me they make such a difference. I feel enveloped in comfort when there is clean, soft, pretty bedding.

God calls every believer in Christ, His child. He envelopes His children in His comforting care. He is faithful to allow our hardships as a comfort for others. He calls His children to be comforted and to supply comfort. I thank God for my struggles within family, my battle with breast cancer, my loss of a baby, and on and on as I have comforted others through an empathetic understanding of loss. Being a Comforter doesn’t mean keeping all from discomfort. It is redeeming our struggles in a way that comforts the family. Sometimes our family gatherings are more about the gift of comfort than a packaged item.

John 14:18 I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you.
