08 Mar Certificate in Biblical Counseling – Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS)
Certificate in Biblical Counseling: This certificate will be offered to anyone desiring to learn the basic proficiency in the area of biblical counseling. These courses will be offered in hybrid format (online and in person). The Certificate consists of seven courses that will provide a well-rounded training for an effective counseling ministry: Family & Children, Marriage, Problematic Emotions, Addictions, Crisis Intervention, and Biblical Counseling.
Course Overview: This certificate will equip you to lead a multi-subject, growth-capable, lay counseling ministry in our church. We desire to see Idlewild care for our members and reach Tampa through the counseling ministry. This certificate is built on four fundamental convictions: the necessity of the gospel, the centrality of the local church, the importance of Scripture, and a balanced view of sin and suffering. While this certificate is designed for the ministry of counseling in the church, there is no license.
When: April 1 – December 2.
Where: Online course with by-weekly in-person discussions on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 PM. Saturdays in-person class from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a SEBTS professor.
