Singleness Testimony

READ MATTHEW 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

As a single adult, I have been able to utilize my specific gifts and life circumstances to further the kingdom of God within our Young Adult class in fostering community, creating a culture of discipleship, driving fellowship, and shepherding people towards our Savior.

God has emphasized in my heart the importance of facilitating and forming community, as Romans 12:5 states, “so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” That mindset of “belonging to one another” transcends the worldly boundaries of marital status, job status, age, etc and unifies all believers under one call: to love our God and to love one another as we first pursue His kingdom and His righteousness. There is holy delight and joy to be found in every relationship, as we witness Christ unify a body of believers with reciprocal gifts to be the hands and feet of His kingdom.

Each time I see the faces of the wonderful people in my Young Adult class, I am reminded of God’s love and His continuous work in our lives. My pursuit of His will allows me to present a testimony to you all that is full of joy, awe, and humble delight in our Father. As I attempt to live out this verse as a single adult, I have come to find what is the “greatest” of all of “these things given to me” – Its God.

From Ecclesiastes, “I seldom reflect on the days of my life, because God keeps me occupied with gladness of the heart”. If what is “given to us” is God, is that enough for our delight and to supply our pursuit of his kingdom?
