Day 16

Day 16

How precious are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake, I am still with You. (Psalm 139:17-18)

To whom can I liken You or count You equal?
To whom can I compare You that You may be alike?
(Isaiah 46:5)

Pause to express your thoughts of praise and worship.

My trespasses are multiplied before You, And my sins testify against me.
For my transgressions are with me, And I know my iniquities:
Transgressing and lying against the Lord, And departing from my God,
Speaking oppression and revolt,
Uttering lies my heart has conceived. (Isaiah 59:12-13)

Ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

May I fear the Lord and serve You in truth with all my heart,
for I consider what great things You have done for me.
(1 Samuel 12:24)

Spiritual concerns
Emotional and physical concerns
Other concerns

May I not transgress the commandments of the Lord, for I
cannot prosper in disobedience. May I not forsake the Lord
(2 Chronicles 24:20)

Pause to add your own prayers for personal renewal.

May I be worthy of respect, not double-tongued, not addicted
to wine, not fond of dishonest gain, but holding the mystery of
the faith with a clear conscience. (1 Timothy 3:8-9)

Growth in Wisdom

Developing an eternal perspective
Renewing my mind with truth
Greater skill in each area of life
My activities for this day
Special concerns

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in
good health, even as your soul prospers. (3 John 2)

Christ has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do
away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And as it is appointed
for man to die once and after that to face judgment, so Christ
was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear
a second time, not to bear sin but to bring salvation to those
who eagerly wait for Him. (Hebrews 9:26-28)

Christ was chosen before the creation of the world but was
revealed in these last times for our sake. Through Him I
believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and glorified
Him, so that my faith and hope are in God. (1 Peter 1:20-21)

Pause to reflect upon these biblical affirmations.

My heart rejoices in the Lord; My horn is exalted in the Lord.
My mouth boasts over my enemies,
For I delight in Your salvation. (1 Samuel 2:1)

You reached down from on high and took hold of me;
You drew me out of deep waters.
You delivered me from my strong enemy,
From those who hated me,
For they were stronger than me. (2 Samuel 22:17-18)

Pause to offer your own expressions of thanksgiving.

Closing Prayer

Who is like You, O Lord?
Who is like You—majestic in holiness,
Awesome in praises, working wonders? (Exodus 15:11)

There is no one holy like the Lord;
There is no one besides You;
Nor is there any Rock like our God. (1 Samuel 2:2)
