Move together through Acts: Chapters 27-28 by Jodie Montgomery

Acts 28:24-27 Some were being persuaded by the things spoken, but others would not believe. And when they did not agree with one another, they began leaving after Paul had spoken one parting word, “The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers, saying,

‘Go to this people and say,
“You will keep on hearing, but will not understand;
And you will keep on seeing, but will not perceive;
For the heart of this people has become dull,
And with their ears they scarcely hear,
And they have closed their eyes;
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
And hear with their ears,
And understand with their heart and return,
And I would heal them.”’

Acts closes with an account of Paul sharing the Gospel while under house arrest in Rome. Acts closes with Paul quoting yet another Old Testament passage. We are reminded that even the rejection of the Gospel is a fulfillment of prophecy.

Through the ages there are some that believe and some that will not believe. God holds each person accountable for their response to the gospel. God calls His children to be the messengers of His Words so that every nation will at least hear. I love that Acts states “Therefore let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will also listen.”

We welcome all who inquire about truth. We rejoice with all that have ears to hear.
