Monthly Foster Parents Support Group

Monthly Foster Parents Support Group

You don’t have to go on Foster Care journey alone.

That is why Idlewild’s Hope for the Orphan Ministry has a Support Group going every month: to encourage those families who said “yes” to this very special call and now need other families come alongside them in prayer and active help.

The Foster Parents Support group started last year and since then it has only get larger. The meetings are hosted by the former foster parents, Abel and Deborah Schoeman, who bring up important topics for discussion.

The participants also have a chance to share experiences, struggles and be educated about how to handle emotional challenges that come with the role of being a care giver for a child who has once being abused, abandoned and/or neglected. It is always a very sweet time of prayer because… there is no Foster Care without prayer!

The time spent in the Support Group can also be validated as the credit hours Foster Parents need to renew their license!

Would like to be a part of this group?

Simply stop by Room E109 (Adult Students Building) every last Wednesday of the month at 5 pm.

Soon-to-be foster parents and non-Idlewild members are welcome!

There is Child Care available for those who sign in early. Registration has to be done through lbock@idlewild.org.

You can call the Member Care office for more information: 813-865-9215.
