Reno Zunz
Minister, Caring Ministry

Personal:

  1. Please continue to cover Sherri and me with your prayers for our spiritual walks, marriage, and families.
  2. Sherri is back to work and well after surgery. Thank you so much for your prayers on her behalf
  3. We are still in need of prayer for my stepmother Samantha. She is getting very close to need to move into an Assisted Living. We have much work to do to make that happen.
  4. Please pray for our ministry to our neighbors. Getting closer to having neighbors move in across the street from us!
  5. For daughters-in-law Megan and Janell as they wear many hats as wives and mothers of young children, and for our youngest daughter-in-law Jenna as she teaches school.
  6. Please pray for our sons Jonathan, David (one of our pastors), and Andy – for their continued spiritual growth and leadership.

Ministry:

  1. That God would direct our Member Care Ministry daily to give our all to assist members through their difficult times.
  2. My Ministry Assistant Lainey has returned part-time. Please pray for her and Deborah Schoeman as they juggle many ministries and responsibilities. Also pray for Linda Sienkiewicz as she anchors our ministries with her hard work and wisdom.
  3. Pray for our Back Yard Baptism event on Sunday, September 22. Pray that many would publicly profess their faith in Jesus Christ!

  1. That God would bless Deana Troyer as she leads our Special Needs Ministries, granting her wisdom and energy and strength, and would provide workers that love the students. We are so grateful for our SN Team!
  2. That the Lord would watch over our Idlewild widows and provide for all of their needs, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
  3. For our Deacon Leadership this critical year: Cary Gaylord(Chairman); Andy Whitten(1st Vice Chairman); Clinton Dailey(2nd Vice Chairman); Mike Ruckman(Secretary); Charles Tipton(Treasurer); and Dana Hardee and Don Enoch(Yokefellow Coordinators). We have a Lord’s Supper on Sunday, August 18.
  4. Please pray for all of our foster families. Pray also for the Foster Training Class this month ending on September 21. It is a very large class! We are so excited as God is moving in a wonderful way in our community to provide homes for these children.

Ministry:

  1. Pray for all the leaders in Kenya that we taught the book of Acts to in July. Pray for protection, provision, and perseverance.
  2. Pray for more labors in the schools.
  3. I need wisdom on how to move this ministry forward.

Ron Upton
Minister, Worship & Creative Arts

Personal:

  1. I want to thank you for your continued prayers on behalf of my family. Please pray for my wife, Miska; my son, Ethan, who graduated in August and has begun the interview process in the field of Environmental Sciences; for my daughter, Maret, and her husband, Zach; and for my son, Nathan. Please pray that as a family, we all make wise choices and decisions.

Ministry:

  1. The Choir’s Fall Kick Off is upon us! It’s the best time of the year to join the Adult Choir. Music Rehearsals have begun and the script for the Christmas Presentation is being written. Please pray that those who have sensed a leading to the Adult Choir will remain faithful and that God will prompt others to join us.
  2. The All Church Orchestra will be on Sunday, September 15th. This is not only a wonderful worship time through instrumental music, but it is a great recruiting tool as well. Please pray God will stir many to use their gifts to serve the Lord.
  3. Please pray for wisdom for me as I seek to prompt a multicultural, multi-generational body of believers to worship the Lord Jesus Christ in unity, spirit and truth.

Jordan Richmond
Minister, Music and Worship

Personal:

  1. Thank you for praying for me, my family, and the ministry I serve in here at Idlewild.
  2. Would you please pray for me and my family? I need to do a better job leading my family in worship and devotions consistently.
  3. Finally please pray that I would be continually filled with the Spirit. I want it – but I’m also “prone to wander Lord I feel it.”

Ministry:

  1. Would you pray for our Student Worship Ministry as we head into the fall? There are so many things that contribute to a healthy person and likewise a healthy ministry. Pray we stay balanced and energized in our programming.

Wade Griffin
Minister, Families

Ministry:

  1. Thank you for your prayers for our Groups Rally for all Adult small group leaders on August 17. The feedback from the meeting with extremely positive. I feel that our leaders thoroughly embraced the direction of our church Vision.
  2. Please pray for me and my team as we work hard to catch those up who were not able to attend. We definitely do not want any Group left behind.
  3. The heavy lifting of our 2020 planning process is now behind us. We are now working on the budgeting aspect and continue to appreciate your prayer support.
  4. The Vision planning is complete, however, there is much work to be done to bring these plans to reality. If God does not direct and the Holy Spirit does not empower and if we don’t go with the love of Jesus in our hearts, the work will be in vain. Daily intimacy with God and falling more deeply in love with Him is our ultimate calling. It is from that overflow that we move forward.
  5. We have a Young Married Retreat scheduled for September 20-22. I would greatly appreciate your prayer that this time would be transformational in the lives of young people. There is a team working on all of the details, but without God’s blessing, it will have minimal impact.

Personal:

  1. Kim and I were thrilled to meet our newest granddaughter on August 14. Jennifer and Philip were blessed with Palmer Gray and she is absolutely beautiful! Thank you for your prayers.
  2. The Cuba Entrust trip Kim and I are going on has been moved back to November. This was driven by the Cuban government. They are getting more and more engaged with religious visas. We would greatly appreciate your prayers for this trip!
  3. It seems that our enemy is aggressively attacking young families at this time. Please pray for God’s protection and that these couples will keep their hearts and minds set on Christ.
  4. We would appreciate your prayers for our neighbors. We hosted a nice event in our home with a group of neighbors. We are praying about doing a homemade ice cream event in late August either at our home or one of our neighbors, the Waters. We are praying that our group will continue to grow and include those who are far from God.
