Prayer

Welcome to the Prayer page at Idlewild. Here you will find resources such as who and what to pray for specifically, including requests from the leaders of the church, upcoming events, Watchman on the Wall signup, and more.

Our goal is to initiate fresh, heart-stirring prayer content and scriptural, Christ-focused encouragement to motivate Spirt led prayer in the church.

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
(Mark 1:35, 2005 NIV)
I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing…. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
(John 15:5,7 NASB)

SANDRA

Would you please pray for me?

I am scheduled for a lumbar puncture on Tuesday, April 7th from 8:00 am- 9:00 am, because of inflammation on my meninges in my brain and severe attacks to my head and ears.

Would you please agree  in prayer with me according to Matthew 18:19 for the  following prayer request:

-That I will not be exposed to the coronavirus at the hospital or anywhere

-I will have a very skilled medical staff,  and that God will guide their hands

-The medication will not affect me

-The procedure will be quick and  a success

-That I won't suffer from the car ride to/from the hospital.  Car rides have produced horrible attacks in my head and ears.

-I won't have any side effects from the procedure, no infection, pain, nothing negative

-That they will be able to locate the source of the brain inflammation

-That it will not be serious and will be curable

-That the symptoms in my head and ears will ALL go away and never return.

-That I will be well to have the procedure

-That God will heal me and make me completely whole

Again, thank you so much for all your prayers,

Sandra

I'm the mother of an 18 month old son and his father recently passed away. Because of this pandemic I've been laid off from my job as a orthodontist assistant. I'm really worried about being able to support myself and my child during this time. I'm doing my best to have faith in God and know and believe that he will provide for me and my son but the worry keeps creeping in. So I hope you can pray for my mind to be settled, to put faith in God that he will provide for me and my son. And that I find peace not only with losing my job but dealing with my boyfriends recent death. It has been really hard. Thank you so much for your prayers!

Amy LUTZ on behalf of LORI and BRANDON

BRANDON AND LORI ARE THE PARENTS

PLEASE ADD THIS FAMILY TO YOUR PRAYER LISTS.....friends of my cousin..... it’s long, but please pray for this family.... he has two little ones️

This started WEDNESDAY for this family.

Update on Brandon: Nothing has changed. He remains in critical condition. He continues to rely heavily on the ventilator, which the doctors feel he will be on for quite some time. His blood pressure has been dropping, so they are administering medications that will keep his BP up within what they consider a “safe” range. He is fighting sedation and his ventilator and they are mentioning the possibility of having to temporarily paralyze him. No decision has been made for sure.

Update on myself and girls: No test results yet. We feel fine, though, other than missing our husband/daddy. I’ve asked the doctors and nurses to keep mentioning our names to him and let him know that we are waiting for him at home. He has to fight.

First, and foremost, I am so overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, kindness, and support that has been shown to my family. Even more importantly, the prayers. There is power in prayer and I believe that the Ultimate Physician is listening and He is hearing our cries. He promises that even when we don’t know what to say, He knows our hearts. That has been me over the past couple days. All I’ve been able to mutter through my tears is, “Please Lord Jesus!” I find comfort in knowing He takes those words and what’s in my heart and is able to translate them perfectly. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the prayers you’ve already said on behalf of my family and I ask that you continue to pray. Pray as you’ve never prayed before.

WEDNESDAY, April 1, 2020

I have been hesitating to post this for a number of reasons, the main one being that it’s our family and it’s a private battle. However, I also believe the more that we have praying, the better.

COVID-19 is real! It does not discriminate. It doesn’t care if you’ve been doing what you’re supposed to be doing - quarantining, sanitizing, following the recommendations of the CDC, etc. WE DID ALL OF THAT. Brandon went to work and back each day, leaving his clothes in the garage, heading straight to the shower, and sanitizing everything. But, guess what?!? The girls and I watched as an ambulance took Brandon away from our house, yesterday, to the hospital, where he tested positive for COVID-19, and is currently in ICU on a ventilator, fighting for his life. We can’t see him, touch him, talk to him, etc. He is there alone, and it is absolutely breaking my heart into a million pieces. The girls and I had to go get tested today. It was painful and downright traumatizing. Why did this happen to us? Our family? We made smart choices! We did what the government told us to do. Please, please, please.... take this seriously! Stay home if you don’t have to be anywhere. LOVE YOUR FAMILY AND TELL

THEM EVERY DAY, ALL DAY.

Family and friends, please pray. Pray like you’ve never prayed before. Ask everyone you know to pray. I want my husband home, my girls want their daddy home, and we want clear test results. We don’t need anything else. Just prayer. That is all.

Thank you again for the prayers.

Stay home. Stay safe.

I'm having a very hard time finding JOY in life. Our first week of the Lamentations sermon series, it was like PK was talking right to me. I feel like my life is one constant minor chord chorus. It's as if I can never catch up on the *things* of life. I have hopes and dreams and goals....but they're so out of reach. I know that God has purpose for the things we go through...But what do we do when it feels like you just can't seem to catch a break? I am tired of being sad and alone and discontent. It affects SO MUCH of my life.

Please pray that the Lord will change my heart to see the JOY in all things - That I will be filled with contentment.

I am writing to ask for a prayer during a difficult time and heart wrenching news. As a victim of an unhealthy, abusive relationship I have taken steps to protect myself and children. During these trying times and during a court hearing tomorrow I ask for prayer of protection and strength, guidance and reassurance, wisdom and a voice, and that we will all be okay as God is our savior and protector.
