Welcome to the Prayer page at Idlewild. Here you will find resources such as who and what to pray for specifically, including requests from the leaders of the church, upcoming events, Watchman on the Wall signup, and more.

Our goal is to initiate fresh, heart-stirring prayer content and scriptural, Christ-focused encouragement to motivate Spirt led prayer in the church.

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
(Mark 1:35, 2005 NIV)
I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing…. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
(John 15:5,7 NASB)

I will be traveling to NJ on July 3rd, by car, with my husband, my special needs son and our dog, to move our recently widowed aunt to move in with us here in Tampa. My sister will be staying to help our elderly parents when the homemaker is not there, everyday, and she is facing trials of her with her husband's health, has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy.

Please pray for us that God's protection will be upon all of us, that we may have a smooth trip without my son having any issues, so that we can accomplish our goals going to NJ and coming back safely to resume our responsibilities here (my husband to go back to his job, and my sister and I to take turns caring for our parents).

Thank your for your intercession.

Let me start out by saying I accepted Christ as my savior 7 years ago.

Last year was a difficult year for me and my relationship with the Lord was basically nonexistent.

God has taken me through some new life situations and I’ve tried to reconstruct my relationship with’s just not what it used to be.

I don’t feel anything anymore. I’m numb. Apathy has settled in and made itself at home.

I hate that but at the same time I’d rather distract myself than try to fix the problem - bc that’s the easier route.

I just feel like the closer I try to be with God, the more I get hurt. I’m SO TIRED of hurting and I’m tired of crying.

At this point it’s more like I just have a reverence for the Lord and no relationship. I just.....I don’t know what to do anymore.

I am a member of the church. I have been baptized in this church. I have suffered from depression for 15+ years. My husband passed away suddenly on 7/4/2018 at the age of 54. He had a bad heart. He was fine the night before he passed. I woke up the next morning on July 4th of 2018 to find him already passed. I haven’t been to church in these past two years. At the beginning I was angry at God. Now I pray all the time. I need God back in my life. I need to rid myself of this depression. I’ve always said that he helped me but after listening to the Wednesday sermon 6/17, I realized that may have been too big of a burden to put on him. It was God I should have been calling on to help me. After that sermon, I may have put this on my family and friends. This message really spoke to my heart. Help me to rely on God. I really resonated with this sermon. Please pray for me.
