Prayer

Welcome to the Prayer page at Idlewild. Here you will find resources such as who and what to pray for specifically, including requests from the leaders of the church, upcoming events, Watchman on the Wall signup, and more.

Our goal is to initiate fresh, heart-stirring prayer content and scriptural, Christ-focused encouragement to motivate Spirt led prayer in the church.

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
(Mark 1:35, 2005 NIV)
I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing…. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
(John 15:5,7 NASB)

My husband and I experienced our worst Christmas ever. My husband was in ICU from March to June, lost his his job, has unresolved medical issues but no insurance for treatment, I lost my job in May and haven’t been able to find another, our “friends” (who are all flourishing) are suddenly nowhere to be found (one is a manager at a well known tile store, has his own growing business on the side and yet he refuses to offer me a job....another works for a recruiting firm and I’ve been waiting since October to hear from a recruiter....not great friends.) We’ve managed to postpone eviction for the past two months but have now run through our resources. My husband is beginning to speak about ending things as our prayers continue to go unheard and unanswered. The worst part for me is that I’ve started questioning my faith. It seems as if God won’t be satisfied until I’m completely destroyed. I need a good job and a good friend.
