Bible Friendship Classes

Preschool Bible Friendship classes allow preschoolers to experience age-appropriate Bible learning activities using hands on approach in a loving and safe environment. Activities are planned with a specific goal in mind: teaching spiritual truths. All of our children, from babies through 4 year old’s, hear God’s word and His love for them. We also offer Praise Island, large-group praise and worship time for our 4 year olds at 9:15. In addition, fours may also attend a Bible Fellowship class at 8:00 and 11:00 am. Preschoolers can stay up to three sessions allowing parents the opportunity to attend adult Bible Fellowship groups, worship services and serve as a volunteer.

In addition to Sunday mornings, Worshipcare is available for children birth through pre-kindergarten during all evening services. Loving teachers and volunteers are waiting to share God’s Word and His love with preschoolers.

Protecting Your Child

How does Idlewild provide safety and security for my child when I’m attending the worship service or a Bible Fellowship class?

Through use of a computerized check-in system, each child is given a name tag containing his room number and any special allergy alert. The parents receives two copies of a matching security tag containing the security number only. This security tag is used to pick up the child. No child is released without this security tag. Parents and guardians are asked to wear this tag whenever you are in our children’s building.

How are teachers and volunteers screened?

We require all volunteers to submit to a thorough background investigation screening. All volunteers are approved by our Leadership prior to being trained to serve with children.

How will you reach me if my child needs me?

If you are in the Worship Center, your child’s security code will be displayed in the lower corner of the IMAG screen. For parents attending an adult Bible Fellowship class, your personal cell phone may be called.

MOPS

MOPS is a grassroots movement that believes moms are world influencers.

We also believe that incubating hearts and giving just-because-hugs can change the course of history. That’s why we connect moms all over the world to a community of women, in their own neighborhoods, who meet together to laugh, cry and embrace the journey of motherhood. MOPS groups are rallying women to be more honest, to feel more equipped and to find our identity by journeying along side one another.

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, and by preschoolers we mean kiddos from birth through kindergarten. We know it’s a little confusing so let’s just stick with “MOPS.”

We are moms, and we believe that better moms make a better world.

How does Idlewild MOPS help?

Idlewild MOPS seeks to meet six specific needs of mothers. These needs are for identity, growth, relationship, help, perspective, and hope. The basic schedule of an Idlewild MOPS meeting is arranged to integrate opportunities for relaxation, learning, meaningful discussion, and creative activities.

When and where will the group meet?

Idlewild MOPS meets at Idlewild Baptist Church on the first Thursday of the month, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Meetings begin each year in September and run through May in conjunction with the school year.

What about childcare?

The MOPPETS program is for children from birth through age five. Each child will be placed in an age appropriate class where he or she will receive Biblically based teaching, have playtime, complete a craft or activity, and enjoy a snack. For mothers of preschoolers who also have older home-schooled children, childcare will be available for the older children. Home-schooled children will be integrated into the MOPPETS classrooms and participate in the activities provided.

What does it cost?

Registration for MOPS is $90.

Your fee includes membership into MOPS International, Kids Kare costs, craft supplies, refreshments and program perks.

Space is limited. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with meeting details.

If you have any questions about our MOPS program, contact Sandy Rinchuse at srinchuse@idlewild.org or 813- 264-8795.
