Re-Gathering Prayer Meeting 6:30-8:00 pm, Thursday, June 4, 2020 Idlewild Baptist Church, Gatheria

“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together , as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”  (Hebrews 10:19-25)

Dear Idlewild Family,

“Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith” at 6:30 pm, Thursday, June 4, 2020, for an uplifting and praiseful gathering of worship and prayer among those who are in Christ Jesus.

This prayer meeting is in preparation and anticipation of our worshiping together on the Idlewild campuses this Sunday, June 7. We all know that there is much to bring to the Lord in prayer daily, and of course, in recent weeks and months. We have confidence that He will hear us as we call on His Name in worship, intercession, thanksgiving, supplication, petition and requests.

David prayed, “Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” (Psalm 61:1-2)

In prayer, we bring our concerns, burdens, anxiety and fears to Him. He will adjust our focus to His holiness, His promises, His heart, and His strength. We renew our minds by the Holy Spirit to who He is and who we are in Christ Jesus. We can freshly set apart, sanctify or consecrate ourselves, our families, our local body and even the buildings for His kingdom, character, purposes and ways.

I look forward to encountering God’s presence with you as we join in prayer and worship together this Thursday night.
