OVERVIEW: Our student ministry desires to see students grow in their relationship with Jesus and be taught how to follow Jesus after High School. Unfortunately, the statistics show that roughly 70% of Christians leave their faith during their first year after High School. The Senior Trip is a retreat with the primary goal of directly addressing this issue. This retreat is designed to equip seniors in their relationship with Jesus through intentional times of teaching and conversation as well as provide an atmosphere for Seniors to grow in their relationship with their peers.
WHY THIS TIME OF THE YEAR? The Senior Trip takes place in Pigeon Forge, TN and the dates of the retreat are December 30 – January 3. While we know that this is during Winter Break, a time when families travel, you need to know that we chose these dates intentionally. After many conversations with parents as well as prayer, we felt as though midway through the school year was the perfect time to give seniors a chance to take a step back, evaluate where they are, and be equipped to lead well in their last semester of High School.
