This SMS Privacy Policy describes how Idlewild Baptist Church (IBC) collects, uses, and protects mobile phone numbers and related data through its SMS text messaging programs. This policy applies to all IBC SMS programs, including mass messaging via Powered By Text, LLC and staff direct messaging via Microsoft Teams SMS.
When you opt in to an IBC SMS program, we collect your mobile phone number and a record of your consent to receive messages. We may also collect information you provide in replies to our messages.
We use your mobile phone number solely to transmit messages within the SMS program(s) you opted into — including alerts, event reminders, content updates, volunteer and donation requests, and direct staff communications. We do not use your number for any other purpose.
Mobile opt-in information will not be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number and consent data will not be sold or rented to any third party.
We may share your information with platform providers, phone carriers, and technical vendors who assist in the delivery of our SMS programs (including Powered By Text, LLC and Microsoft). All such vendors are bound to handle your data in accordance with applicable law.
We reserve the right to disclose information as required by law, regulation, or governmental request, or to protect our rights or property.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent information will not be shared with any third parties under any circumstances.
You may opt out of any IBC SMS program at any time by replying STOP to any message. Upon opting out, your number will be removed from that program's contact list and you will receive no further messages from it. See our SMS Terms & Conditions for full opt-out instructions per program.
We retain records of mobile opt-in consent as required for compliance with applicable telecommunications regulations. Opt-out records are retained to ensure your preferences are honored.
