“My trip to Uganda to teach pastoral training in refugee camps for South Sudanese church leaders was a spiritually profound experience. Despite challenges and being away from my family for around 10 days, I felt a supernatural bond with the diverse team of fellow volunteers. God’s presence was evident as we learned from each other’s unique perspectives, fostering unity that surpassed our differences.
The challenges I faced, including the unfamiliar living conditions, the separation from my family, and the physical demands of the environment, pushed me out of my comfort zone. But through these challenges, I saw God’s faithfulness in sustaining me. There were moments when I felt a deep sense of homesickness and a lack of control in situations. However, it was during those moments of insecurity that I leaned on God and found solace in the amazing team that He put together to walk with me. As we taught the pastoral training classes and engaged with the church leaders, I realized that my role was not just about imparting knowledge, but about walking alongside them in their spiritual journey.
