Walk By Faith

Walk By Faith

A Devotional by: Stephen Clarke

It’s been roughly 185 days since the corona-virus (COVID-19) has wreaked havoc on the United States.
I’m sure we can all agree since March life hasn’t felt the same. Parties canceled, church completely virtual, and masks a new part of our everyday wardrobe.

I’m the type of person who thrives and enjoys staying busy and on the go. I can have 6 different things I’m juggling all at the same time. I plan out what I’m going to do when I’m going to do it. When everything suddenly came to a halt at the end of March I was not sure what I was going to do. Weddings I planned on attending got canceled. LifeWay announced the cancellation of student camps for the summer, which meant I’m now at home for the summer.

In the midst of all of the chaos and uncertainty, what has The Lord been trying to say?

For me, it’s been three simple words.

Walk by faith.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” – Corinthians 5:2 (CSB)

In the middle of this global pandemic, with plans being changed and lives turned upside down, let’s remember to trust and abide in The Lord. Keeping in mind that His plans are better than ours, and He is a God who works in the details.
To the hurting and confused, find refuge in Him. We may not understand on this side of Heaven, but we know whose we are and that in itself should give us strength and faith to endure seasons of uncertainty.

“What I lack, you are full of. Where I’m broken, you are whole
What I’m doubting, you are sure of – I’ll trust the lover, lover of my soul.
What I confess, you will cover. What I let go, you’ll control
Lord my hope is, in no other, I’ll trust the lover, lover of my soul”
“Lover of my Soul, Jonathan McReynolds”
