Dr. Ken Whitten
Senior Pastsor

Personal

  1. Praise for safety during speaking engagement travels so far this year.
  2. Praise for health and stamina to lead my family and shepherd our church.
  3. Praise for Mrs. Ginny and her ministry as a wife, mother, grandmother “Gigi,” as Women’s Ministry leader, Loft 181 volunteer, and hospitality queen to name a few.
  4. Pray for us as we reach our neighbors and help those who are hurting.
  5. Continue to pray for “wisdom that is from above (James 3:17)” as I go through the book of James with you. That God would give me His Words to speak and challenge us to become “doers of the Word (James 1:22).”

Ministry

  1. Pray for the Kingdom Man Conference with Tony Evans in March. Pray that God would move the hearts of our men to attend and invite their one. That those who attend become men invested in the Kingdom of God.
  2. On March 14 at 5 pm One More Child – Hopestreet will have a hearing with the city’s commissioner seeking approval to build a Compassion Center and a Community Transformation Center. We need God’s favor for the city’s approval to build. We covet your prayers on this matter.
  3. I have an opportunity to speak to U.N. Ambassadors at the Cross-Cultural Easter Celebration this April. It is an opportunity to present the Gospel to hundreds of different people from all over the world. Pray that God gives words that will transcend all cultural barriers and bring these leaders to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
  4. Please pray for me as I initiate talks with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers about having a summertime football camp for inner-city children. Pray that doors will open.
  5. Finally, continue to pray that families, singles, seniors, students, and children will return to the house of God to worship collectively, encourage each other, and serve in the church and the community

Personal

  1. Susan as she continues to be a faithful and supportive wife, mother and partner in Gospel ministry.

Ministry

  1. Pray for many families to respond to a monthly presentation by Steve Overton on Stewardship during our new member’s class called Starting Point. Pray that it would motivate many to give to the Lord through Idlewild for the first time.
  2. Pray for wisdom and discernment for our benevolence team and our food bank team to effectively meet the needs of those who are hurting. Pray that God will raise up workers to serve in this strategic ministry.

  5. Pray that the “Becoming A Kingdom Man” Men’s Conference on Friday, March 8th will be well attended and be a catalyst for many men to be motivated and challenged to be “Kingdom Men.”

Patrick Newbill
Minister, Children Ministry

Ministry

  1. 5th grade girl (Trinity) who just came to IBC retreat with a friend. She is tasting to see if the Lord is truly good but has not come to a relationship with Him. Pray that for God to call her and for her neighbors to bring her regularly.
  2. O’rion – A 4th grade child at Sulphur Springs that lives in a despicable family situation. Satan ‘clearly’ has a hold on him. Pray for bonds to be broken that he may respond to the Gospel.
  3. Please pray for 6 more volunteers from the North campus to join Sulphur on Thursday nights in the kids ministry that has taken on new life this semester.
  4. Please pray for 2 more volunteers in Kidz Cove (Kids Church) at 9:15 and 2 more at 11:00 (as well as 2 tech people at 11:00).
  5. Pray that God would supply a 4 year old coordinator and a new VBS coordinator.

Personal

  1. We’re having all sorts of roofing issues (leaks/musky) with our house. Pray that God leads us to the right people to get it totally fixed.
  2. My 22 year old son, (in LA), regularly attends MacArthur’s church but needs to be making Christian friends.
  3. Please also pray ‘offensively’ for that same son (in LA) as he is biblically solid (and standing firm) but works in a world that surrounds him with people that would love to see him fall.
