FAMILY MINISTRIES

Wade Griffin
Minister, Families

Ministry:

  1. We find ourselves in unprecedented times! I am so grateful for our Church family and especially for our Small Group leaders. These leaders are doing so much to care for and ministry to their members. Please pray for them! They are walking through their own disruptions and uncertainties as they sacrifice to pray for and minister to others.
  2. I have heard many accounts of neighbors, friends and family members who are open to the gospel in this time of uncertainty. Join me as we pray the light of Jesus shines through each of us. Lord, give us boldness and courage to lovingly speak of you and your love for the world.
  3. Please join me in praying for our wonderful staff. They are working hard to ensure that our church is connecting people to God, to each other and to a lost world.
  4. We were working to deliver a program called Lost and Found which has our staff and lay leaders reaching out to inactive members. We have modified this effort to include all members. We appreciate your prayers for this effort.

Personal:

  1. Kim and I are going well. We appreciate your prayer for strength and guidance through these days.
  2. Our youngest daughter and son-in-law are expecting their second child in early June. Praying for a healthy happy boy!

Rob Taylor,
Minister, Stewardship and Men’s Ministry

Personal:

  1. Susan, as she continues to be a faithful and supportive wife, mother and partner in Gospel ministry.
  2. Our four children, Kelby and wife Katura, Kelley and husband Colin, Kent and Kyle and grandchildren James and Taylor. Pray that our children will please God in every area of their lives and that they will be fruitful in every good work. Colossians 1:9-12
  3. Praise God that He has led me to hire Kirk Malone as the coordinator of Stewardship and Men’s ministry as a result of Connie Varga’s retirement. Please pray for Kirk as he transitions to this new position. Pray that God will give him wisdom and understanding to support these ministries with excellence. I thank God for the creativity and the administrative gifts that he has already provided. Pray that God will give he and I unity as we grow the Idlewild Stewardship and Men’s ministry according to God’s will.

Ministry:

  1. Pray for many families to respond to a monthly video presentation on Stewardship/Generosity during our new member’s class called Starting Point, even though this class may be digital in future days. Pray that it would motivate many to give consistently to the Lord through Idlewild, especially during these unprecedented times with the Coronavirus outbreak.
  2. Pray for wisdom and discernment for our benevolence team and our food bank team to effectively meet the needs of those who are hurting. Pray that God will give us wisdom on how to help and who to help and the provision to meet needs while our nation is in a state of crisis. Pray that God will raise up workers to serve in this strategic ministry. I praise God for many volunteers who faithfully serve in this ministry with such faithfulness and diligence.
  3. Pray for the Stewardship Ministry as we endeavor to cultivate a culture of generosity within the Idlewild family and raise the temperature of Biblical Stewardship. Pray for the planning of a Generosity Sermon and Group teaching series that we will be able to lead people on their Generosity Pathway.
  4. Pray for those enrolled in Financial Peace University to take control of their money from a Biblical perspective and experience the joy of faithful stewardship.
  5. Praise God for many families that are sacrificially giving in the Accelerate Stewardship Program and funding Idlewild’s vision of “Loving My Church,” “Leading His Church,” and “Launching The Church.” Praise God that our total indebtedness continues to decrease and we are on schedule to be debt free in 2021.
  6. Praise for the men who registered and are participating in our Spring Semester Bible Studies.
Pray for the smooth transition as we will be meeting digitally instead of face to face during the next several weeks. Pray that men will take the next step in their spiritual growth and ministry calling and impact their families and community for Christ through MoMENtum. (Ministry to Men). Pray also that men who are invited to attend who have not trusted Christ to be their Savior to be saved.
  7. Pray for Men of Iron/Strong 27 which is a men’s one to one and micro group discipleship ministry. Pray for the many pairs of men that our currently meeting and growing spiritually together. Also, pray that many more men will commit to being part of a mentor/protégé opportunity in the future and that we can develop a robust culture of discipleship in our ministry to men.
