PRAYER REQUESTS

Steve Kirby
Minister, Instrumental Music

Personal

  1. His family – Bonnie, Daniel (Aden and Jackson), Joel (Veronica, Ryleigh and Raegan) and Erin (Matt).
  2. Pray for Daniel and Jen (as parents) as they raise Aden and Jackson up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, even from different states. Jen divorced Daniel and now lives in North Carolina (this is her 5th move since leaving Daniel). In order for Daniel to see his boys, he has to fly to up there or fly them down, which has taken a heavy toll on his finances. His boys are basically growing up without him. Jen is very far away from the Lord and not helping the situation. Jen doesn’t go to church, so the boys don’t go. Pray that God would install His wisdom in them and that they would come to Christ. Pray for wisdom, sound minds and God’s grace on their lives.
  3. Pray for Joel and Veronica as they lean on Him and make Him a priority in all things. Pray that Joel and Veronica will continue to be the parents to Ryleigh and Raegan that God has called them to be.
  4. Pray for Erin and Matt. Matt is very far from the Lord. But, God is moving. We are praying that Matt comes to Christ soon. Pray for Erin as she still deals with headaches, migraines and a severe wheat allergy. Continue to pray for His perfect will to be manifested in her life now and the future. Thank you for lifting my children (and grandchildren) up in prayer! Pray for wisdom and direction.
  5. Thank you for continuing to pray for my family. My mom’s estate is out of probate and the house is up for sale. It is a heavy weight on us right now. Thank you for lifting us up in prayer!

Ministry:

  1. The Worship Orchestra as we are always looking for additional instrumentalists to join with us. We are always in need of string players (violin, viola, cello), but all other instruments are welcome.
  2. The Student Worship Community, including the WILD Orchestra, as we pray for godly leadership with a thirst for God’s Word. We are always looking for additional instrumentalists. We are especially in need of string and woodwind players (particularly violin, flute and clarinet), but all other instruments are welcome (and needed). Pray that we can capture young musicians to train and to become better worshippers and better worship leaders. We are excited about our WILD mission trip to NYC coming later this year, June 26 – July 1. Lots of details to be worked out, so pray for us as we plan. Thank you for praying for us!
  3. The Centre for Music, Worship and the Arts as we wind down the spring term. We are always in need of qualified instructors, specifically vocal (male and female), piano and guitar. We lost a few key instructors this year (retiring, moving). Pray that we can continue to meet the needs according to the Lord’s plan for us.
  4. I am hosting the Metro Instrumental Directors Conference May 13-17. It is a national conference for instrumental directors at mega churches from around the country. Pray for the final details to come together and that the Lord will move in the lives of those that attend.

Brendon Schlappi
Minister, Single Adults and Young Adults

Personal

  1. We received our first foster placement a month ago. We are not sure how long she will be with us, but pray for Armoni’s adjustment in our home and for the healing of her family.
  2. I am finishing up my Masters of Divinity degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and hope to graduate after this Fall semester. Please pray for good time management and life balance.
  3. As a family, we are working to establish a better weekly rhythm of rest into our lives. Pray that the Lord would give us strength to labor 6 days and rest for 1 each week.

Ministry

  1. Pray that the Lord would send an increasing number of men who are committed to the Lord to our ministry, as we have a high percentage of woman.
  2. Pray that the people in our ministry would be warm and welcoming towards visitors looking for a community to belong.
  3. Pray that the Lord would help the people in our ministry to find their worth, identity and significance in Him
  4. Pray that our people would use this season on singleness to secure their undivided devotion to the Lord (1 Corinthians 7:35)
  5. Pray for Christ-honoring reconciliation in many broken relationships and friendships in the ministry.
