Worship Band
Worship is our highest calling and greatest experience. A skilled Worship Band can help guide a congregation along the journey to the Throne. This is the heart of the Worship Band at Idlewild.
Our bands play primarily for the Wednesday night worship venue, Idlewild Español, student services, Sulphur Springs, as well as assisting on Sunday mornings at our Lutz campus. The Worship Band takes a progressive modern approach to music, focused on rhythm charts, improvisation, stage presence, and integrating technology with worship.
We are looking for skilled, flexible, adaptable, likable players, with servant hearts. While core band instruments are drums, bass, keys, and guitars, we do regularly utilize other instruments, including strings, winds, brass, perc and a variety of ethnic instruments.
We are relentless about achieving a particular “feel.” As such, we value the musical ability to listen and respond within a group. Technical proficiency has its place but only as it contributes to the overall feel.
