Idlewild Young Adults

At Idlewild, we’re passionate about encouraging and equipping young adults to live in Christ, in community, and on mission. Our Young Adults Ministry (ages 18-29) provides a place for the young adults of our church to grow alongside other believers and live out the Word of God, both in the local church and in the world.

Check out how you can get involved below, and be sure to follow us on Instagram for all the latest updates. There’s a place for you here!

Midweek Service

  • TUESDAYS AT 7:30PM – Hall 2 (Student Building 2nd Floor)
WHAT IS MIDWEEK?

Midweek is a weekly gathering of young adults (18-29) from across Tampa Bay. Our desire is to foster authentic Christian community through theologically-rich Bible teaching, gospel-centered worship, prayer, and fellowship. Whether you’re a long-time follower of Jesus or just checking Christianity out, we’d love for you to join us!

WHAT HAPPENS ON A TYPICAL TUESDAY NIGHT?
  • 6:45 – Free Dinner
  • 7:30 – Midweek Worship Service (Worship, Prayer, and Teaching)
WHERE DO I GO ONCE I GET THERE?
  • When you get to Idlewild, enter through the Student Building entrance (the IYA tent will be out front!). When you enter, you’ll be greeted by our welcome team at the front desk. After you check in, they’ll show you where to go!

Sunday Service

  • SUNDAYS AT 9:15AM – WORSHIP CENTER
  • The Sunday morning service is our weekly multigenerational worship gathering with our church family at Idlewild. Join us for a time of singing, prayer, and hearing from the Word!

Sunday Groups

  • SUNDAYS AT 11AM – ADULT BUILDING
WHAT ARE SUNDAY GROUPS?

Sunday Groups are our weekly post-service small groups that cultivate community around the Word of God. Each group participates in either a Bible study or discussion of the Sunday morning message.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT GROUPS AND WHERE DO THEY MEET?
  • E102 – Sermon Review and Topical Discussion
  •             Ray & Lori Pendyck; Will & Adrienne Brown

  • E103 – Genesis: A Study in Theology and Apologetics
  •             Joel Riley

  • E106 – The Book of Job
  •             T.R. & Gina Campbell

  •             E110 – Using the Bible in Our Daily Lives
  •             Kathy Jones – Ladies Group

  •             E111 – The Book of Luke
  •             Mike Weilant (Multigenerational Group)

  •             E207 – Biblical Prophecy and Fulfillment
  •             Keith & Kam Sims
WHAT SIZE ARE THE GROUPS?

Groups may have as few as ten people or as many as forty. We encourage each person to try multiple groups to find the one that is the best fit for them.

HOW LONG DO GROUPS LAST?

Sunday Groups typically last from 11AM to 12PM.

Discipleship Groups

WHAT ARE DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS?

Discipleship Groups are small groups (3–5 people) focused on spiritual growth and missional multiplication.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A DISCIPLESHIP GROUP MEETING?

When a Discipleship Group meets, they spend time in the following practices:

  • Prayer
  • Accountability & Confession of Sin
  • Bible Study
  • Encouragement and Accountability in Missional Living
WHERE, WHEN, AND HOW OFTEN DO THEY MEET?

Each group meets for one hour a week at a time and place that is convenient for the group members.

WHAT IS THE MAKEUP OF A DISCIPLESHIP GROUP?
  • Groups are made up of a leader and 2-4 other group members.
  • Groups are gender-specific.
  • Both believers and seeking non-believers are welcome to be part of a group.
WHAT KIND OF COMMITMENT IS INVOLVED IN ORDER TO BE IN A GROUP?
  • Everyone involved in a Discipleship Group must be committed to meeting weekly with their group and participating fully during the meeting time.
  • Because the goal of Discipleship Groups is missional multiplication, every group member should be working toward one day leading a group of their own.
